Hello, Piper here, just swooping in before the real drama starts—what you humans call the holidays! 🦃🎄Woo Woo! I don’t create the chaos, I just like to narrate it. And let me tell you, this house gets loud, I mean cockatoo convention loud. Pots clanging, humans squawking, and music blasting like they all forgot about volume knobs. 🔊But hey, that means more people around to praise my superior plumage. 🦜
Now, reader flock, brace your tail feathers…we have a final title for Book One in The Tales of Ella Strawberry series! The boss says to wait for an official title reveal date, but we’ll just let it slip here:
Feather-flap drumroll…🥁
✨The Rabbit Foot Files✨
Sounds like something a detective owl would whisper under a streetlamp at midnight. 🦉I asked why I wasn’t in the title, but the author insists that “plot arcs don’t work like that.” (What does she know? I’ve watched entire parrot documentaries and there’s a lot of story there.📽️)
✒️ On another note, we—ahem—the author, is DONE with edits for The Rabbit Foot Files, and the manuscript has migrated to the queue for creative design. Makes me feather-puffing proud! One chick step at a time. 🎨I offered to help beak out some sketches but apparently, “artistic shredding” is not helpful.
Once piece of sad news—there’s no Piper’s Post in December so we can hang out with our people.👨👩👧👦 Chill out for a whole month? Yeah, right. But the boss says rest is important for everyone. Something about how better outcomes depend on work-life balance. Sounds a bit suspicious. I guess the humans need it because they don’t know how to slow their roll. Me? I can roost still for at least thirty seconds without proclaiming my victory speech, but I respect the process. I’ll be plenty busy with all that shiny paper and ribbon under the tree. 🎁They say the presents are for humans, but if it sparkles, it’s mine.
Next update lands in January!🗓️Until then, my magnificent flock, have a squawk-tacular holiday season. May your snacks be crunchy, your book nooks be cozy, and your humans be generous with treats.

PIPER'S Q & A
Question: "How is The Bones In The Woods coming along?"—Rose from Denver
Answer: Hi Rose—always a delight to hear from you! Thanks for checking in about The Bones In The Woods. Pull up a perch, because there are updates hot off the birdbath. The second book is doing fantastic. It has officially flown off to the beta readers, and about half have swooped back in with feedback. Let me tell you, humans have great bird-eye viewpoints. 🔍And that’s saying something—I can spot a cracker crumb from rooms away. 🍪
So, what’s the verdict? The boss says she has to cut about five thousand words. Five. Thousand. Something about taking out the boring chatter. But the good news? The readers like the characters, suspense, and storyline. There’s some especially insightful comments about the spiritual theme. Once all the feedback is sorted, polished, and tucked neatly into the manuscript, off it goes to the big man’s desk—AKA the publisher. I don’t know how the author is so calm. Just thinking about it makes me pace my perch—gotta run now, Rose, to practice my diaphragmatic breathing.
🎁Piper’s Holiday Tip: Scotch tape is for presents not feathers, and string lights are for looking at—not chewing (reminder for parrots and toddlers).
